J.Heinrich Blaufrankisch Goldberg Reserve 2002 #21747
From the HeinrichŐs best vineyard, the over 50 year old vines produce a powerful BlaufrŠnkisch full of character. Only the best grapes, after perfect ripening in the vineyard carefully harvested and just as carefully fermented and without further influence put into the bottle. Red wine from Austria should taste like this more often. Deep ruby color with purple reflections. Fine berry aroma underlayed with nougat. Fabulous rich texture. Lush fresh fruit: strawberry and cherry with mineral overtones. Hint of tobacco and vanilla followed by a sensuously fruity aftertaste. Very well integrated tannins. A dense, structured and spicy, robust red with lots of character and a long finish. This vintage was Vinaria's "Best Buy".
